Keynote School Presentation at the UNICEF Rights Respecting School Conference – Article 12 Celebrations

St Stephen Community Academy’s Steering Group representatives had the privilege of presenting at the inaugural UNICEF Rights Respecting School Conference, held at County Hall, Truro. This landmark event—the first of its kind—brought together a wide and diverse audience, including leading UNICEF Rights advocates and education professionals.

Invited as a Keynote Gold Rights Respecting School by the County Rights Respecting Officer, our pupils spoke with exceptional confidence and passion. They proudly shared the details of our ongoing project on food waste, engaging listeners with their knowledge, enthusiasm, and commitment to positive change. Their Keynote contribution, alongside their interactive market stall showcasing the project’s journey, drew numerous compliments and enthusiastic feedback from attendees.

The children demonstrated both creativity and leadership at their stall, where they displayed their work and ran a food‑waste competition. One delighted winner even received a box of freshly laid eggs from our school chickens that very morning!

The conference was both inspiring and enjoyable, and we are immensely proud of our incredible ambassadors. They are true changemakers—making an impact today while keeping their eyes and hearts focused on building a better, fairer future for everyone.
