Maths Hub - Sharing Good Practice at St Stephens
 
At the start of term we were delighted to welcome teachers from a range of primary schools across Cornwall to visit our school and observe some brilliant maths teaching and learning.
 
A huge thank you to Mrs Morris-Torr, Miss Wonnacott, and our fantastic learning support assistants for showing the high‑quality provision our children experience every day.
Well done to the amazing children in Year F and Year 1, who confidently showed their maths fluency. They used a range of equipment to demonstrate their number knowledge and used clear stem‑sentence talk to explain their thinking. One visitor commented that it was “a fantastic morning with the Maths Hub – incredibly useful to observe the wonderful staff and pupils.”
 
Thank you, as always, to our wonderful Maths Lead, Ms Neale, who organised the morning. She later delivered further training to more visiting teachers on equity and variation in maths teaching from EYFS to Year 6.
 
We are very fortunate to have such expertise in our school and to be able to share it with others.
